OPPORTUNITY IN CRISIS

Our President has the attention of the world. I am thankful he holds that attention. Our profusion of unserious voices infects and inflames public discourse. I am thankful my president has developed his intellect and skill with years of experience. With outbursts of crisis and pent up hostility, some people may think it is time to call up the next generation of power brokers and pretenders. But, is it? Our life is the consequence of actors and actions that came before. Nobody is perfect. But, experience will teach what’s right. More than any President in my lifetime this one has met his moment with keen understanding. The US Head of State is taking deliberate diplomatic steps to guide history forward. For all its flaws the American experience: our yeoman spirit and yearning intellect has found a central place in world civilization. The right steps, taken in our name, can profoundly affect humanity’s global destiny. At the earthly nexus of all manner of Asian African and European cultural development, our president has let it be known that US agency is committed to resolve the century of conflict. Beginning with negotiations to find equitable terms insuring respect and dignity for all those who agree to occupy the land and share resources, He outlines paths for eventual conflict reconciliation. Discontent will not cease. But an outcome of such substance can inspire and vitalize global civilization. We are all wise enough to know the road to hell is paved with good intentions. On the other hand, all the elements of a just resolution are present and ready to engage. Including exhaustion. A rare moment of opportunity has surfaced. The consequence of our best efforts might genuinely reduce devastation and improve life for our descendants. I support Biden. I only pray that enough of us say that out loud often enough to move our nation forward.
